John Massengill

John Massengill has owned and operated Building Envelope Associates since 2017. He has over 35 years of experience in the roofing and construction Industry, previously serving in sales, management, business development and technical sales roles for manufacturers and distributors before becoming an independent manufacturers sales agent.

As an independent sales representative, in 2008, John founded a sales agency, servicing the Northeast, implementing product sales and business development strategies for various national product manufacturers. And co-founded the Environmental Construction Collaborative, a non-profit educational resource to promote sustainability and environmentally responsible construction practices.

Previously John served as Treasurer of the NERCI Chapter, is active in the IIBEC Florida Chapter Association and is a member of the RCASF. He has also served as President, Board Member and Volunteer for various non-profit organizations.

In 2017, upon his return to South Florida, John started a new sales agency, Building Envelope Associates and rekindled many relationships. John recruits top talent in a given area and specializes in rehabbing underdeveloped markets. He has expertise in sustainable building solutions, energy-efficient products and consults on innovations for commercial construction applications to meet project specifications and maximize ROI.

Christine Massengill

Christine Massengill

Christine Massengill has been a small business owner for over 20 years and currently co-owns and operates Building Envelope Associates with her husband John Massengill.

Prior to moving to Florida, in 2008, Christine co-founded the independent manufacturers sales agency with John servicing the Northeast region, conducting office supervision, customer service and sales activities.

Christine was elected to the Scarborough, ME Board of Education. For several years she served in many roles, on the finance committee, negotiations team, as vocational school liaison and the chair of the board. She volunteered as Board member for Project G.R.A.C.E., actively worked on the New Wentworth Building Committee, the Steering Committee, chairing the Green Sub-Committee and as the event/volunteer coordinator. Christine currently participates in industry chapter organizations such as the Roofing Contractors Association of Southern Florida (RCASF) and IIBEC Florida Chapter.

For Building Envelope Associates, Christine oversees numerous daily operations including office management, customer service, sales support, pricing, order fulfillment and coordinates sales meetings and special events with manufacturer and distributor partners.

Kevin Sturdy

Kevin Sturdy

Kevin Sturdy is a sales representative at Building Envelope Associates, joining the team in 2020. Kevin has over 15 years of experience as an independent sales representative in the South Florida market.

Kevin co-founded S&S Roof Technologies Sales Corp. an independent manufacturer sales agency with his father David Sturdy in 2015. And previously worked for Rooftech Sales Corp. As a sales representative, Kevin has represented several national product manufacturers with leading products in the industry.

Kevin was licensed as an American Building & Contracting Journeyman Electrician after graduating from college concentrating in business administration and management. He worked as a professional electrician until 2007 for a national design-build electrical contractor and system integration company working with developers and builders on complex projects. Kevin then became a Project Manager for a large real estate development group in Miami, FL building luxury residential, retail and mixed-use properties before becoming a sales rep.

As a sales representative with Building Envelope Associates, Kevin prides himself on giving the best sales experience to all our customers and enjoys working with diverse professionals in the industry.

Kelsey McMenamy

Kelsey McMenamy

Kelsey McMenamy, P.E. CDT, joined Building Envelope Associates in 2020. Kelsey brings over 12 years of experience as a project engineer in the industry to complement our sales team.

Kelsey worked for a leading Northeast based consulting group of engineers, planners, architects and building enclosure specialists in the renovation and reuse of existing buildings, sites and infrastructures. Kelsey acted as the engineer on staff to conduct project management and engineering evaluations for various institutional, municipal, commercial and healthcare facilities.

Kelsey concentrated in civil engineering in college. And started her career working for a large general contractor as a project engineer. She has her CDT Certification. Kelsey has been involved in the Boston Chapter of CSI since 2012 and held the Vice President and Director positions.

Kelsey’s engineering experience, as an addition to the Building Envelope team, is an advantage to our business partners and customers. Providing required engineering evaluations and certified engineering calculations of building envelope components and systems including design of repair and replacement options. Kelsey has expertise in commercial low-slope and steep-slope roofing, waterproofing, exterior systems and fenestration design.

Ben Safren

Ben Safren is an Architectural Sales Representative at Building Envelope Associates, joining the team in 2021. Ben is experienced in technical sales with a demonstrated history of working in the building materials industry, specializing in the components of wall system assemblies, concrete detailing/construction and Architectural Consulting.

Ben holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Business Administration. Beginning his career, Ben worked as a Business Development Specialist for a leading information technology research and advisory company. He then served as the Business Development Manager for a premier architectural design products and wall system manufacturing company producing stone, masonry and wall components.

Ben has collaborated with architects, contractors and large manufacturers in the industry on a number of masonry projects in the Mid-Atlantic region prior to joining the group.

Ben’s business development, sales and technical experience benefits our customers, providing construction best practice insights and selecting the proper system components to achieve the optimal value for built applications.

Roland Fixione

Ronald Frixione

Ronald Frixione is an Authorized CERTA Trainer and OSHA Construction Safety Certified roofing professional with over 20 years of industry experience. Ronald joined Building Envelope Associates in 2022 as a sales representative. Previously Ronald worked as a certified trainer for a top roofing and waterproofing systems manufacturer.

Before his position as an educator, Ronald served as an Account Manager for a roof tile manufacturing company responsible for the Miami Dade Territory, managing relationships with Distributors, Roofers and Builders. Additionally, Ronald worked as a Field Supervisor for a roofing company and as a warehouse supervisor/roof tile specialist managing daily operations.

Ronald possesses the technical experience to enhance system knowledge through education.
As industry guidelines and codes evolve, Ronald will aid in understanding the appropriate system solutions to meet standards and sustainable products for longer-lasting, more resilient structures.

Ronald’s technical acumen from his previous experience as an educator, sales manager and field supervisor will be an advantage to our customers to improve productivity and efficiency. Ronald is fluent in English and Spanish and brings his expertise in code regulations and industry practices governing roofing construction activities.

David Palaci

David Palaci

David Palaci is a Sales Representative at Building Envelope Associates, joining the team in 2022. David is an experienced sales representative with excellent knowledge of commercial and residential roofing systems and components.

David graduated from Miami Dade College with a degree in Business Administration. David started in the industry as an inside sales representative for a major distributor, responsible for logistics, orders and maintaining inventory to meet consumer demand. He was promoted to a Territory Sales Management position generating business growth through new customer acquisition and serving as a consultant to roofing contractors.

David then worked as a Territory Manager for an independent sales group representing industry brand manufacturers in Central, FL to support territory growth, develop business and strengthen relationships with contractors and distributors.

David’s sales and consulting experience will assist our customers in Central, FL, by providing product education, awareness of the latest technologies and a dedicated focus on customer service excellence by always working toward the best result.

Lenny Fotopoulos

Lenny Fotopoulos

Lenny Fotopoulos is a sales professional with over 20 years of rep experience in commercial roofing products with a proven history of revitalizing underperforming markets. He has in-depth knowledge of the building product industry and is enthusiastic about developing and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Lenny specializes in commercial low-slope roofing systems and supports contractors on project specifications. Lenny started his career in the industry as an installer. He then became a sales rep and the principal of two rep groups, serving three states and representing numerous major industry brands.

Lenny is focused on providing a high level of customer service, exceptional communication and a commitment to driving sales growth with our business partners. He has strong leadership abilities and a commitment to achieving our customers’ goals to drive growth. He offers excellent guidance regarding industry standards.

Lenny is a registered CSI member with an excellent technical understanding of the latest building technologies including roofing, insulation and waterproofing systems. He is enthusiastic about joining our team and creating, developing and maintaining strong customer relations to generate repeat business.

Juan Melendez

Juan Melendez is a sales representative with over ten years of demonstrated success in providing results-driven sales strategies in highly competitive markets. He is experienced in construction practices focusing on building envelope waterproofing systems.

Juan’s expertise with below-grade structural waterproofing helps our customers navigate accurate product applications for projects. Juan prides himself on developing customer loyalty by building long-term partnerships.

Before joining Building Envelope Associates, Juan was a Technical Sales Representative for a national manufacturer serving Florida and the Caribbean. He worked with key clients to increase product distribution and develop new business. In his prior role, Juan participated in developing a new coatings division focusing on urethane cement products, creating business strategies and building a team of sales specialists and technical reps. In addition, Juan assisted in generating and presenting AIA educational presentations to architects.

Juan’s leadership, technical expertise and product knowledge will help our Central and South Florida customers better understand the specific waterproofing systems to prevent or mitigate water infiltration into the building envelope and protect assets.

Arturo Vazquez

Arturo Vazquez is a sales representative at Building Envelope Associates, joining the team in 2023. Arturo has experience as a manufacturer sales representative serving the South Florida market.

Before joining BEA, Arturo was a sales representative for a leading manufacturer. Arturo has excellent knowledge of the building materials industry. As a manufacturer rep, he educated customers on sustainable building systems, construction materials and advancements. He was responsible for product sales, prospecting and building solid relationships with distributors and customers.

Previously, Arturo conducted sales for one of the most significant supply chain services leaders, providing supply solutions for prominent brand retail stores and the hospitality industry. He has distribution expertise and a history of strategic partnerships to enable business growth.

Arturo knows how to respond with top-quality solutions tailored to project specifications. He is pleased to have joined the BEA team and looks forward to strengthening relationships between our customers and industry partners to serve our customers’ needs.

Dave Riker, Insulation Product Manager

Dave Rinker

Dave Rinker is the Insulation Product Manager at Building Envelope Associates, joining the team in 2024. He is a veteran of 35 years in the sales of construction products and has been entirely devoted to the Florida market during his career. Dave is accustomed to building lasting relationships with high-volume customers and supporting large-scale, prominent construction projects.

Previously, Dave founded and managed an independent manufacturer’s product rep agency, CRS Inc., serving Florida. Dave became the go-to guy for the manufacturers and the customers he served. His years of sales experience with major industry manufacturers of roofing and building products prepared him for his entrepreneurial sales and marketing role at his firm.

Dave has extensive experience with tapered and flat polyiso insulation systems for commercial assemblies.
With BEA, Dave’s technical expertise, business acumen and extensive product knowledge will be of great value to our customers, aiding in a better understanding of the advantages of polyiso insulation systems. Dave is thrilled to be a part of the BEA team and looks forward to continuing long-term relationships with customers and cultivating new business.

Cody Mihigan, Wall Insulation Systems Specialist

Cody Mihigan

Cody Mihigan joined Building Envelope Associates in 2024 as the Wall Insulation Systems Specialist. Cody will be responsible for product sales and education for wall insulation assemblies, introducing customers to various continuous wall insulation solutions offering barrier protection to ensure the best building operation performance.

Cody grew up in the industry and worked from 2007 to 2010 as an intern at CRS Inc. Cody took a hiatus to become a firefighter/paramedic and dedicated 5 years to serving the community. In 2014, he returned to the industry as a salesman covering roof and wall products. He helped to grow the business by meeting with architects, general contractors, distributors and building owners to establish relationships.

Cody is a hard-working, focused and dedicated to bringing in new business opportunities for growth. His knowledge of commercial and residential building products will benefit customers in learning about wall barrier protection systems that fully protect the wall and increase service life. Cody is excited to join the BEA team, bring new products to the market and develop strong customer partnerships.

Andrew Mitchell, sales representative

Andrew Mitchell

Andrew Mitchell is a sales representative, joining the Building Envelope Associates team in 2024. He has been in the industry for 6 years, working with Dave Rinker and Cody Mihigan at CRS Inc.

Andrew began as an intern/inside sales representative for CRS in 2018 and, after a year, took over the North Florida and Central Florida territories, providing occasional sales assistance in the Southeast Florida market. For BEA, he currently covers North Florida and contributes to the Central Florida territory as needed. His focus and experience come from commercial roof and wall systems, as well as various steep slope products during his time in the industry.

Andrew is very excited about joining the BEA team and strives to be a great addition to a well-respected group. He communicates promptly with his distributors and contractors, regardless of the situation; committed to working toward the best outcome. Andrew believes a commitment to maintaining relationships with current customers while establishing new ones with future customers is essential to success in the market.
