Good News, Not So Good News
Good news, Hunter Panels are still the best product around, the not so good news… after several years of only modest and sporadic cost increases, in 2017 the US economy started to experience more persistent inflation. That trend has been compounded in 2018, and Hunter Panels is experiencing more frequent and significant increases in the costs of raw materials and the freight to deliver finished goods. Previously announced price increases must now be supplemented by the following increase, which will take effect May 1st.
Polyisocyanurate Roof Insulation 5%
In addition, the cost to deliver products has risen significantly as the transportation industry adjusts to the supply & demand imbalance resulting from reduced driver availability and the impact of electronic driver logs. Accordingly, a freight surcharge will be implemented for truckload shipments; a surcharge of $75 will be applied for each truckload under 100 miles and $125 for shipments greater than 100 miles. These surcharges will take place on all truckload shipments beginning May 1, 2018, that have not been protected by a quote.
Hunter Panels has been absorbing these additional cost increases, but it is now apparent that they are not going to be short-lived and must be addressed. We regret the need to pass along these cost increases and will continue to do our best to mitigate them whenever we can.
